David M. Freeman has worked for major firms throughout the New York area and has joined Philip J. Rizzuto, P.C. after working with Mr. Rizzuto ten years ago. David rejoined the firm because he shares the same commitment and passion as Mr. Rizzuto, for protecting the rights of the seriously injured, who cannot protect themselves within the legal system.
He deeply respects the fact that although the firm may have a number of cases, each particular case must be treated uniquely and is important to the injured client. All of this is in addition to relentlessly and tirelessly pursuing, and protecting, the rights of those injured in accidents.
Mr. Freeman understands and empathizes with a client’s particular needs which were created by the negligence of the wrongdoer. He knows that while a client may not return to their former state of health, they can be fully compensated and treated with the dignity they deserve. He helps his clients hold those who were negligent accountable for their actions, and in this way not only obtains full and fair compensation for those who are injured, he serves the interests of justice on his clients’ behalf.
Mr. Freeman succeeded in winning a significant medical malpractice case for the family for the wrongful death of their mother. A former Appellate Court Justice had said that the case could not be won, but David prevailed and obtained a substantial six figure award.
Additionally, Mr. Freeman obtained a multiple six figure awards for a 69 year old man who suffered a bulging disc in his back, a woman who tripped and fell chipping her tooth with a small, and healed chip fracture in her elbow and obtained a verdict more than five times the defendant’s final offer for a 69 year old man who aggravated a significant pre-existing rotator cuff tear for which he was still under treatment. David has tried many challenging cases to verdict including medical malpractice and general liability cases.
Mr. Freeman fought for and won a significant verdict for a woman involved in a motor vehicle accident who was about to lose her home because she was disabled for a period of time, and could not work.
The insurance company denied responsibility for her injuries and made a nominal nuisance value offer which was rejected. Mr. Freeman took the case to verdict and was awarded $600,000.00.
